Shoaib - Animation

artist – designer – digital craft maker

cc by Shoaib

Workshop :  Animation 2D
Shoaib teaches animation to individuals seeking a visual language for their artistic feelings. His animation course is a guide for those with curious minds who wish to express their deepest artistic ideas through animation, creating work that resonates with the eyes and soul of their audience.

About Shoaib
Shoaib Zaheer began his artistic journey at a young age in the art markets of Afghanistan. In 2019, he participated in ODC, a platform where he showcased his storytelling and artistic skills through animation. Later, he studied Media Art at KASK, where he combined his traditional artistic skills with electronic and digital media.

The animation that illuminated his path, The Survival, was a mixed-medium project that deepened his engagement with Belgium’s geographic and artistic landscape, marking the beginning of a profound journey. While developing his career in media art, he ultimately earned a master’s degree in visual art in Belgium. Though he explores various mediums to express his artistic vision, animation remains his true passion. He describes it as, “Animation isn’t just a sequence of moving images; it’s a complete world of storytelling—from brainstorming and writing plots to selecting forms and mediums, editing, adding vocals, music, and voices, and finally presenting your work to an audience.”

Ersel - Vector drawing

visual storyteller

Workshop : Reuse-it
Re-use it subjectively selects objects from Collections of Ghent/De Collectie van de Gentenaar and samples patterns and color combinations, for later re-use. These combinations are open to the public so they can reuse them in the way they want.

The samples live on a webpage where you can download them, the extension file is SVG : https://reuse-it.github.io/home/archive.html

The project aims to save the unique designs and colors from being stuck and to bring them to life again with different works in different concepts. In this way, it aims to reach more people and live for a much longer period of time. Besides, it provides people, especially creatives, with new and different tools that they can use.

About
Re-use it is an experiment initiated by Ersel Musmul during the 2021 Open Design Course and was initially created to explore the possibilities of the artifacts on display at the Design Museum Ghent, an active partner of the ODC 2021 program.

Iman - jewelry / stencil printing on fabric / lino printing

multidisciplinary artist – teacher

Workshop : jewelry
The workshop is for making your own jewelry. Each person can make a pair of ear-rings using the enamel technique. We’ll need metal (usually brass) and enamel.

The space should have good ventilation, sturdy tables, electricity, and water. Some parts of the workshop can be noisy because we might use a small hammer to shape the metal. The workshop can be done in one day, from morning to afternoon.

Workshop : lino printing
This workshop is about lino printing. Each person can make a small stamp to print on fabric, and afterward, we can create a larger tapestry using everyone’s prints.
